Meet the Founder and Creative Director
‘You dream of the possibilities; together, we will combine the potential with expertise to capture those ideas and turn them into a cohesive design package. I will work with you to determine needs, opportunities, and challenges, explore ideas, and develop a design uniquely suited for the context. I can help with as much or as little as needed; from architectural design to confirming paint selections.’ - Angela

The Designer. Trained first as an Interior Designer, Angela possesses strong spatial understanding grounded in a functional and human-centered design approach. By pursuing a Master of Architecture, the ability to develop and detail environments transformed scale. Central to her creative pulse is conversation and connection; client’s goals, needs and passions inform and inspire each project. This has led to nine AIA South Dakota Honor and Merit awards, as well as five national juried exhibitions and numerous conference presentations. With over 14 years of industry experience, Angela brings practice-based knowledge and innovative insight to every project and design process she leads.
The Mentor. For over 10 years, Angela engaged in leading and teaching within the School of Design at South Dakota State University. She was in the business of training the next generation of designers and architects; a crossroads between industry forecasting and innovation. Teaching also allowed Angela to unpack and dissect how to lead the design process within a variety of unique investigations. A skill critical to developing successful design solutions.
The Dreamer. Angela has harbored the dream of Arise in her heart since she set her sights on design school. But owning and operating a creative studio from Nunda, South Dakota seemed out of reach. Watching the design industry innovate and adapt over the past three years made the dream a possible reality. It was time to take the leap. Arise represents a new frontier, a new beginning, an opportunity to come to life.
Angela and her family live on an acreage, outside of Nunda, South Dakota. The Retreat. An upbringing rooted in the context and landscape of rural South Dakota stimulates and enlightens a locally based spirit and sensitivity in her work. Angela, husband, Justin, and kiddos Avery and Will, enjoy spending their free time exploring, camping, fishing, traveling and relaxing.

Nikki is a strategic thinker who leads the development and refinement of interiors from concept to completion. She ensures the highest standards of quality, latest trends and technologies available are utilized to create inspiring, functional and sustainable spaces.

Stacy Dilly
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT LEAD
Stacy is our lead BIM manager. He coordinates with the design team in project development, manages construction document completion and provides assistance during construction administration activities.

Hunter serves as a CAD/BIM operator. He coordinates with the design team in project development, creates documents and coordinates details during through construction document completion.

Careen Smith
PROJECT MANAGER
As a project manager, Careen oversees design development and construction phases of projects. Playing an integral roll coordinating with team members and consultants in the delivery of a successful project, maintaining strong relationships every step of the way.
